Homebound Policy


The Palermo Community Library provides free delivery of materials twice a month to Palermo residents who are Library patrons unable to visit the Library due to long or short-term illness, immobility or age.

Library volunteers will deliver regular and Large Print books, audiobooks and DVDs requested by the patron.

Services are provided at no charge to the patron; however, if materials are lost or destroyed the patron will be charged the replacement cost for the item plus a processing fee of $2.00 per item.

For those who have difficulty seeing the printed word, the Library also has information about Library Services for People with Disabilities (link is external) administered by the Maine State Library for the Library of Congress.

Monday 10 a.m. – 12 noon

Tuesday 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Wednesday 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Thursday 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Friday Closed

Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Sunday Closed

Patrons of Palermo Community Library may become patrons of Bangor Public Library to have access to Flipster, download e-books and all other services of being a BPL patron. Please visit PCL to complete an application and receive a barcode number to become a patron of BPL. Please bring one form of I.D.
